How to get to Solihull
Getting to Solihull is easy. You are never more than 10 minutes away from the motorway which makes Solihull central to many routes, in every direction. The M42 motorway skims the outskirts of Solihull and this links straight to the M6, M5 and M40.
The nearby city of Birmingham is just a convenient drive away. Being in such a central location makes Solihull easily reached by the other main cities in the UK too.
Solihull is very well served by public transport. The train station is just a few minutes’ walk to the centre of town. There is a frequent high speed train service to London Euston, which is little over an hour away. To the north, the train connects Solihull with Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. There is also a line to the Chiltern area and London’s Marylebone Station.
Numerous regional bus services operate within the area and they connect Solihull to neighbouring towns and villages in the Midlands. Coach services also pass through Solihull on a very frequent basis. Service providers include National Express and Megabus who cover the whole of the UK and link Solihull into their network.
A less obvious means of arriving at Solihull is via the canals. The canal offers an ideal route for cyclists, offering them a very pretty route that is safe from vehicular traffic. Narrow boats use the waterways too and can reach Solihull by navigating the Grand Union and Stratford on Avon canals.
